Horizon Forbidden West has recorded its third week in a row at the top of the physical UK sales charts thanks to some plentiful PS5 Stock in the region. Despite being a digital code, an official Horizon Forbidden West PS5 console bundle is counted as a boxed copy by GfK and so it helps significantly boost the PS5, PS4 exclusive's chart positioning. Half of all PS5 system sales have been for the official bundle as of late.
There's some movement of note for other games, however. Two Point Campus drops from second all the way down to 14th, and Gran Turismo 7 also slips down a spot into sixth. Grand Theft Auto V returns to the top 10 in seventh, and FIFA 22 also squeezes in tenth. LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is up one place into fifth, and the rest of the chart is made up of Nintendo Switch exclusives.
Here's the latest top 10 in full.
UK Sales Charts: Week Ending 20th August 2022
- Horizon Forbidden West
- Nintendo Switch Sports
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- Pokemon Legends: Arceus
- LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga
- Gran Turismo 7

- FIFA 22

Bundled or not, the HFW sales are going to end up being quite strong when all is said and done.
Skywalker Saga is also turning into an evergreen title.
No surprise its top and deserves it to, amazing game and my game of the year so far.
@SinfulDestroyer evil Jim 😈 is prioritizing his home country over others with ps5 stock 😂.
I played something else, the cartoonish kids games.
I wish I can play my Kao the Kangaroo PS5 since I still haven't have the PS5 machine yet.
@Anti-Matter are you religious or you just don’t like adult games.
I'm getting months of gameplay out of Forbidden West.
Money well spent. Loving it and can't wait for expansion news.
Not surprising considering the trash assassin's creed games sell well over there too.
@RedRiot193 I really don't get why people like to call Assassins Creed games bording or bad when imo games like Horizon Forbidden West or Ghost of Tsushima are basically the same game as AC but just with different skin
@RedRiot193
my taste > other people's taste

Exactly, it's not the type of game that's finished in a week or two, I've had it since launch day and still haven't completed the main quest 🤣 it makes you wonder what the agenda was when just TWO weeks after release certain media outlets were running headlines with 'only 13% of players have completed Horizon Forbidden West's campaign' 🙄
I wonder if we'll see the same energy two weeks after Starfield drops 🤔
@mariomaster96 horizon and ghost are nothing like assassins creed.
@mariomaster96 They lack a good story and their open worlds are incredibly boring. I put HFW on there too with assassin's creed games. Which is why it's selling well over there.
@naruball cope
@4kgk2 I played all the way through AC Origins, Ghost of Tsushima and Horizon Zero Dawn and for me they felt the very same but with different setting
Origins had ancient egypt setting, GoT feudal(?) japan and HZD post-apocalyptic robot setting, but other than that they felt the same to me story- and gameplay-wise
It's fine that you feel different about those games, this just just my opinion on those
Not that I am saying HFW will have the legs that MarioKart 8, but the reasons for remaining in the charts is the same. New people continue to buy the console and its one of the best games on the platform, so it's a no brainer to buy it for your shiny new console.
I have seen PS5s available loads of times recently, especially on Shopto. Looks like those shortages are easing at long last.
@mariomaster96 that’s like saying Mario and sack boy and astro bot are the same because all them games are platformer’s.
Listen, I'm not this type of gamer but in the UK there a huge subset of people who buy FIFA every year, maybe Cod and maybe an Assassin's Creed title, that's it, that's what they play. I think the problem is that those three titles right there have pieced through gamer culture and into the mindsets of the average person. Plus, they are annualised (AC used to be) and established - what you are getting is on the tin. The average Joe doesn't know that Horizon or Ghost is like Assassin's Creed, nor do they care. If all your mates are playing Fifa, you're probably gonna do the same. The issue for properties like Ghost is social, and psychological - here in the UK at least.
As this is a UK site can we have the word TRASH banned?
It's thrown about far to much by our American friends.
As per usual physical only sales data is useless when digital sales account for 80% of the market
It's going to be very interesting seeing the charts in September, namely regarding TLoU Part 1 and Splatoon 3. Both are games that have had discussion about whether they should've been free updates or DLC for the previous entry (previous remaster in the case of TLoU) instead.
Can somebody explain to me why GTA V is always in the top 10 for like 8 years straight?
@UltimateOtaku91 mines too I wish I did play it later though after all these updates
@4kgk2
I'm not really religious people.
I'm 37 years old adult man but only like to play kids games and very very few Teen games.
You can check my other post on this website to explain why did I hate adult games.
It still pains me that I had to buy this game because it was the only way I could get a PS5.
At least I got half my money back on it by trading it in.
@SuperPotato316
"Yes, they're open world games but that's about it."
Nope,structure of missions are similar, dialog with NPCs are very similar, combat is action based, tons of ? on the map
I even remember when they showed of GoT before release and they were infiltrating an enemy base and it showed that yellow arrow that an enemy is about to spot you and I thought "That's exactly like in AC"
@SuperPotato316 No because the level layout is completely different. Astrobot (at least that PS5 one) has linear levels whereas SMO has more open levels. Also the movement of those games is entirely different and movement is obviously a crucial part of plattformers. I wouldn't even call SM Odyssey and Galaxy the same because their level design and movement is completely different
Those open world games with with tons of ? marks, similar combat, similar movement, similar quest structure on the other side feel (obviously) very similar to me.
I reckon when God of War Ragnarök comes out that will be number one for years Happy for Horizon 2. I just got it last week but not sure when I'll play it(back-log still to long at moment)
@RedRiot193 no, u.
@RedRiot193 Please tell us of the games you approve of....
*insert ‘well we’re waiting gif’
@Fight_Teza_Fight Just click on my profile. You'll see a bunch of games I consider trash and loads of others I don't. Some games i love to name a few bloodborne, mass effect, god of war 1-2018, halo 1-3, monster hunter, final fantasy, etc.
The assassin's creed games nor this hold a candle to those.
@naruball never
@mariomaster96 They’re bad because they’ve milked the franchise to death and the ubisoft formula is tiring . Ubisoft sucks , what game from them is good right now ? 😂
@mariomaster96 stop lying. it's nothing like assassin's creed. ironic coming a from a mario fan lol.
@middyone Care to tell me what wrong about Mario games ?
(Mainline Mario games and Mario Kart, don't care about spin-offs)
@mariomaster96 they milk the same franchise and every 3d one is basically the same. if you think fighting robo dinosaurs with a bow and arrow is the same as being an assassin...you need to get your eyes checked. the fact you said same story and mission design too...i'm dying lol
@mariomaster96 you people try to make the most barebones description of games into "it's the same thing" it's absolutely hilarious the mental gymnastic ya'll put yourself through
@middyone

Ironically you do the same with Mario lol. Can't make this s*** up lol
@mariomaster96 hmm let's see...comparing the games in the same series or comparing 3 completely different games with barebones description. I'd say I have leverage and you don't my guy.
